Anderson

I Love You. February, 2009
My name is Tim Anderson and I was born in San Jose, California. When I was young my father used to take me to my godfather’s photo studio downtown. It was filled with props, lights, a small dark room and the biggest light table I’d ever seen [or maybe it was just that I was tiny]. This is where my fascination with making photographs began.
Years later, on a cross country road trip with a friend, my godfather gave me my first real photographic possession. I mean, I’d owned cameras, taken photographs but this, this was a huge, old, clunky medium format camera. A camera that had seen more than I’d even thought about seeing. At that moment I realized this was something important.
I tend to focus my work on the everyday. Enjoying the act of seeing and taking in something’s potential, trying to capture the afterthoughts. I think that’s what’s important.
